To view your usage -

Barracuda Spam Filter Live! 31/01/08

Hotnet has a new industry approved Spam Filter server. State of the art cutting edge technology has been implemented to reduce the amount of spam.

Presently all hot.net.au client email accounts are covered by this system.

As of 6am this morning when the filter was installed in our Datacentre and brought online the following statistics have been achieved in a 4 hour window -

43000 emails received for hot.net.au
1300 emails passed for delivery to clients.
41700 emails REJECTED as spam.

540 username search validations REJECTED.

In it's first hours of operation it is proving to be a valuable addition to hotnet's services.

Nod32 Antivirus and ESET Security 31/01/08
Hotnet is an endorsed reseller of the Nod32 ESET Security System and Antivirus. If you conduct any financial business across the internet, it is imperative that you have an up-to-date and effective industry recognised Antivirus and Threat detection program.

What to do in a Severe Thunderstorm 27/10/05
When Severe thunderstorms are forecast or present.

Hotnet Equipment Checklist:
* Unplug all important Electrical Appliances.
* Unplug your Computer/Laptop/Modem/Router/fax.
* Unplug all telephone lines from said devices!
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony.
* Keep clear of fallen power lines.
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* Don't walk, ride your bike or drive through flood water.
* Unplug computers and appliances.
* Avoid using the phone during the storm.
* Stay indoors away from windows, and keep children and pets indoors.
* For emergency help, ring your local SES Unit on 13 2500.
